March 13th was NOT just another day. The Celtic Thunderheads woke up this morning to devastating news. George Donaldson, a Principle Singer for Celtic Thunder had a massive heart attack the day before and had passed away. It was one of those days where you wanted so badly to stop reading all the posts on Twitter & Facebook. A day where you just wanted life to be normal. You stepped away from your computer, your iPad, your phone only to almost immediately go right back to it and read the latest news. Our beloved George was gone.
We were all so shocked and sad, our tears were flowing freely. We can only imagine what George's wife Carolyn & daughter Sarah were feeling, as well as the Celtic Thunder family. Slowly throughout the day the present & past Principle Singers & Band started to post on Facebook & Twitter. They have shared their heartache and shock with all of us over the past few days.
We are all so concerned for all of the lads. They are brothers, even if they all come from different mothers. Ryan is in the USA doing a promotional tour, who is there with him to support him? Keith is doing his solo tour of the USA, how will he be able to perform each night with this devastation in his heart? We see Colm on line in the middle of the night re-posting tribute videos made by George's fans, we all wish we were there to comfort him. Neil is home working on his projects, posting selfies of him & George in happier times.
This blog is for George Donaldson. Our goal is to post links to all the youtube videos featuring George as a singer, his chats with us and sadly those tribute videos that his many many fans are making to honor him. We will be re-posting social media posts that honor George. Our goal is to get all this information into one place.
